Notes concerning odours in air conditioned vehicles

Remarks on odours in vehicles with air conditioning, vehicle with refrigerant R134a

• If the evaporator emits unpleasant odours, clean the evaporator.
• SEAT has tested and approved the ultrasound A/C cleaner - VAS 6189A- as well as the suction feed spray-gun - V.A.G 1538- with the appropriate flexible hooked sensor.
• Instructions on cleaning the evaporator are supplied with the equipment.
• As soon as SEAT approves new methods, appropriate notes are added to the workshop manual.

Notes for vehicles with a start-stop system

Observe the safety precautions for vehicles with a start-stop system.

If a start-stop system is installed, the following abort conditions will deactivate the start-stop function:

• The start-stop system has been switched off via the start-stop mode button.
• The charge condition of the battery is insufficient to restart the engine (starting voltage prediction).
• The defrost function is active.
• The windscreen heater function is active.
• The air conditioner system temperature set in the control element deviates by more than 8 ºC from the actual temperature of the interior.
• The engine speed is greater than 1200 rpm.
• The alternator - C- is defective, i.e. belt broken.
• Coolant temperature not within specifications of 25 ºC - 100 º C.
• Blower speed increase by more than 4 stages.
