Note Leave the holders in the vehicle on removing the heater and air conditioning unit.
Removal:
- Turn off the ignition and all electricity consumers.
Vehicles without access and start authorisation system
- Remove ignition key, if fitted.
Vehicles with access and start authorisation system
- Store ignition key outside the vehicle to prevent the ignition from being switched on unintentionally.
Continued for all vehicles
- Remove heater and air conditioner unit.
- Detach the electrical connector -1-.
- Fold aside the heat shield -2- behind the ABS unit.
- Remove nuts -3 and 5-.
- Detach the holder -4- in the passenger compartment.
Note The refrigerant pipe with the internal heat exchanger must be removed if the nut above the ABS unit is not accessible as described.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal; note the following.
- Insert the holders -1, 3- in the mount at the heater and air conditioning unit -2- and place the air conditioning unit in installation position.
- Tighten the nut at the holders.
- Fit the remaining components
