Note When renewing control unit, select Replacement function for relevant control unit in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" using - Vehicle diagnostic tester.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Special socket spanner - T10424-

Steering

Removing

  • Remove steering column switch module.
  • Separate the connector -2-. For this purpose, slide the unlocking element -1- to rear and press down the release catch.
  • Unscrew the shear bolts -3- with the special socket spanner - T10424- .
  • Remove the control unit for electronic steering column lock - J764- -item 4-.

Steering

Note If it is not possible to remove the shear bolt with the special socket spanner - T10424- , you must drill using an angle drill and a Ø 8.5 mm drill bit.

Installing

Carry out installation in the reverse sequence, noting the following:

  • Tighten new bolts -arrows- until head shears off.
