Removal:
- Turn off the ignition and all electricity consumers.
Vehicles without access and start authorisation system
- Remove ignition key, if fitted.
Vehicles with access and start authorisation system
- Store ignition key outside the vehicle to prevent the ignition from being switched on unintentionally.
Continued for all vehicles
- Remove the lower side of the dash panel.
WARNING Risk of airbag control unit malfunctioning due to corrosion in connector.

- Cover the airbag control unit -4-.
- Carefully press aside the floor covering and cover the area beneath the condensation drain hose with impermeable sheeting and absorbent paper.
- Detach the condensation hose -3- at the heater and air conditioning unit -1- and at the body -5-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal; note the following.
- The condensation drain hose can only be pressed home in one position on the heater and air conditioning unit.
- The lug -arrow- at the connection must engage in the guide -2-.
- Insert the condensation drain hose -6- in the body opening until it is heard to engage.
- The holder -2- at the condensation drain hose must be properly clipped in (pre-tensioned) at the body opening -1-.
- The sealing lip must not be loose at the body opening.
- The retainer tabs -arrows- must be fully engaged.
- If not sufficiently tensioned, seal the joint between the body and the bracket with silicone adhesive sealant or similar .
Note
- Fit the condensation drain hose such that it is neither twisted nor crushed.
- When fitting the floor covering, make sure that it does not squash the condensation drain hose.
- If the condensation drain hose is not fitted firmly enough at the heater and air conditioning unit connection, secure it with a hose clamp for example to prevent slipping. Hose clamp.
Checking condensate drain
Checking
- Remove the centre console trim, right footwell .
- In the area of the condensation drain hose, carefully fold back the floor covering until the condensation drain hose is visible.
- The lug -arrow- at the connection must engage in the guide -2-.
- Insert the condensation drain hose -6- in the body opening until it is heard to engage.
Note
- It must be possible to push condensation drain hose -1- onto the heater and air conditioning unit connection without tension.
- The condensation drain hose must be fitted securely to the condensation drain connection on the tunnel.
- The sealing lip -2- must not be seated loosely on body aperture.
- The retainer tabs -arrows- must be fully engaged.
Specified torques:
