Removing:

  • Remove centre console.
  • Move the drivers seat forward.
  • Unclip connectors -A- of the handbrake warning switch - F9- -B-.
  • Clip out the securing tabs -arrows- of the handbrake warning switch - F9- -B- and remove.

Installation:

Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

Anti-lock brake system

Removing and installing brake servo vacuum sender

Note

  • The vacuum sensor - G608- is only installed on petrol engines.
  • The vacuum sensor - G608- is located in the non-return valve of the brake servo.

Removing:

  • Remove connector -3- from the vacuum sensor - G608- -1-.
  • Remove the vacuum sensor - G608- -1- from the non-return valve -2-.

Installation:

  • Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

Anti-lock brake system

Removing and installing ESP sensor unit - G419-

Lateral acceleration sender - G200- , yaw rate sender - G202- and longitudinal acceleration sender - G251- are installed in the ABS control unit - J104- .

After replacing the ESP sensor unit - G419- the ABS control unit - J104- must be encoded and a basic adjustment of the "brake system" carried out.

WARNING

Severe shocks (e.g. dropping, impact) may damage the ESP sensor unit - G419- . The ESP sensor unit - G419- may not then be used any further.
