- Gearbox fitted to vehicle
Removing
- Remove battery tray.
- Remove circlip -1- for gear selector cable -2- from gearbox selector lever -3-. Pull cable-end piece for gear selector cable from the pins.
- Remove cable end-piece for relay lever -4- together with relay lever.
- Remove gearbox selector lever -1-; for this purpose the nut -2- must be removed.
- Gearboxes for vehicles with start-stop system: remove gearbox neutral position sender - G701- -arrow-.
- Remove selector shaft with selector cover -A1-. To do this, the selection lever must be moved to neutral position. Then remove the bolts -arrows- and take the selector shaft out of the gearbox casing.
Installing
Carry out installation in the reverse sequence, noting the following:
- Set selector plates in neutral position.
- Apply sealant - AMV 188 200 03- evenly to sealing surface of selector mechanism cover.
- Install selector shaft with selector cover -1-. Then tighten bolts -arrows-.
- Gearboxes for vehicles with start-stop system: install gearbox neutral position sender - G701- -arrow- and tighten the bolt to the corresponding tightening torque.
- Wipe off a small amount of grease on pin of gearbox selector lever -3- and the gate relay lever -4- .
- For grease allocation, refer to - Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA) .
- Renew securing clip -1- for the cable end-piece -2- after removing.
- Install relay lever -4- and cable end-piece together.
- Insert gate selector cable in cable end-piece on gate relay lever.
- Adjust selector mechanism .
- Install battery tray.

- Gearbox selector lever to selector shaft
- Gearbox neutral position sender - G701- on gearbox
- Selector mechanism unit on gearbox
