Removal:
- Turn off the ignition and all electricity consumers.
Vehicles without access and start authorisation system
- Remove ignition key, if fitted.
Vehicles with access and start authorisation system
- Store ignition key outside the vehicle to prevent the ignition from being switched on unintentionally.
Continued for all vehicles
- Disconnect battery.
- Remove the dash panel .
- Lift off air duct -2-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal; note the following.
- Renew damaged or defective foam seals -1-.
Note
- Take care not to squash the foam seal on the air duct on inserting the dash panel, as otherwise the flow of air to the windscreen will be uneven or inadequate.
- After installing the dash panel, check the vent direction and distribution of the air flow from the defroster vent to the windscreen.
Removing and installing air duct for centre dash panel vent
Removal:
- Turn off the ignition and all electricity consumers.
Vehicles without access and start authorisation system
- Remove ignition key, if fitted.
Vehicles with access and start authorisation system
- Store ignition key outside the vehicle to prevent the ignition from being switched on unintentionally.
Continued for all vehicles
- Disconnect battery.
- Remove the dash panel.
- Remove the air duct for centre vent flap of the dash panel -1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal; note the following.
- Renew damaged or defective foam seals -2-.
Note
- Take care not to squash the foam seal on the air duct on inserting the dash panel, as otherwise the flow of air to the dash panel vents will be uneven or inadequate.
- After installing the dash panel, check the vent direction and distribution of the air flow from the dash panel vents.
- Make sure the guides at the air duct are correctly positioned in the mounts.
